Cambodia to Feel the Effects of Typhoon/Monsoon Combo

PHNOM PENH: The Ministry of Water Resources and Meteorology said that Cambodia will feel the effects of the fourth typhoon this season along with moderate southwest monsoon winds in the eastern Pacific Ocean. They also warned that an active low pressure area could become a new typhoon as it enters the northern Philippines.

The typhoon, dubbed Talim, is expected to cause light to moderate rainfall mixed with thunderstorms and heavy winds in both the central lowlands and the highlands. Coastal areas can expect moderate to heavy rain mixed with thunderstorms and heavy winds. There will be strong winds on the sea causing dangerously high waves.

The Ministry of Water Resources issued a similar warning last week about weather that resulted in tourists on the islands near Sihanoukville unable to travel by sea for over two days. The ministry called on everyone to be vigilant against the stormy weather.
